ART OF FATHERHOOD EXPO & ESSAY CONTEST
Dear Friends, Families & Supporters,
Due to the very unfortunate and overwhelming reality of addressing the victimization of girls, Women Wonder Writers and Daughters Lives Matter is rescheduling the ART OF FATHERHOOD: DADDY DAUGHTER PAINT DATE set for Saturday, October 27, 2018 for another date next year. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but please understand the importance and timeliness of our addressing current risk and assaults facing our local teen young women population. We apologize for any inconvenience as we will focus on THE WRITE OF YOUR L!FE to help build resilience.
Notwithstanding this, due to the high need and impact of expression and advocating for father-daughter relationships, the ART OF FATHERHOOD ESSAY CONTEST will remain in place with an extended deadline of November 9, 11:59pm. Submissions will be judged and winners will be notified by Thanksgiving 2018. SUBMIT YOUR ESSAYS HERE.
Please stay connected for upcoming events, as well as, how you can support at: womenwonderwriters.com or daughterslivesmatter.com. You can also email our Marketing Coordinator, Terry Boykins at Terry@womenwonderwriters.com or call 909-838-9117.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this sad reality of our nation's state of being.
Why do Daughters' Lives Matter?
71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes, 63% of youth suicides are connected to fatherless homes, 71% of pregnant teens lack a father, and American children from fatherless homes are the most vulnerable to being trafficked. Additionally, issues of promiscuity, poverty, drug and alcohol use, as well as teen pregnancy are identified as high-risk areas when fathers are absent from a daughter's life.
Together we can provide support in helping to build healthy daddy/daughter relationships, reduce poverty and promote peace and prosperity for everyone. If we don't spend time with our daughters, someone else will. We guarantee it!
